Hello from the past, future amazing readers! I am writing to you from several days before you’re going to be reading this because, as you read this, I am hanging out at MarsCon 2019 in beautiful Williamsburg, Virginia! I am quite sure that I’m having a ball! I hope that you, too, are having a great time with your weekend. You know the drill by now, and since we’re already playing with time travel, go ahead and step into this large, unobtrusive blue box. You know the one. It’s bigger on the inside.

This week, My Favorite Things played host to author Brenda Drake, who had a brand new book released on Tuesday! Make sure to check out Analiese Rising when you get a chance. It’s the first of the year, which made me think of beginnings. I started reading Robin Hobb’s latest trilogy a few weeks ago and was struck by something strange: why is nobody talking about her work? Outside of her core fan base, I don’t ever see people discussing her novels. This is a shame, because she’s more than worth your time. If you like epic fantasy, you need to read Hobb.
