Weekly Roundup: April 6-10, 2020

Welcome back to the Weekly Roundup! As always, lots of stuff happened this week — we’ve got new faces to celebrate, favorite characters to toss coins to, stories set in a vivid game world, advice for the con-lover, and controversies galore! Monday

We’re so excited to welcome our newest contributor to Speculative Chic, Christina Kovar! She’s our special guest this week for My Favorite Things, and she’s talking spontaneous musical theater, a hilarious fish-out-of water comedy, a popular animated reboot that’s all for the honor of Grayskull, and delicious movies that celebrate cooking. Nicole got inspired by Netflix’s The Witcher and has started reading Andrzej Sapkowski‘s series, starting with The Last Wish, which introduces the now-iconic Geralt of Rivia. Book Club

We’re drawing closer to our Book Club discussion for April! We’re talking Paul Krueger‘s Steel Crow Saga a fantasy featuring battles waged with enchanted steel and magical animals and memorable characters — a prince, a detective, a soldier, and a thief. Nancy is leading this discussion on April 24th — you still have time to get cracking!
