On the day for lovers, we’re celebrating loves — our favorite fictional pairings, that is! Read about the couples who make our Speculative Chic contributors swoon (and we’ve opened it up to headcanons, too!). Did we pick your favorites? Or did someone new catch your eye? Fall in love again here.

Book Club

I’m so excited that the days are drawing ever nearer to this month’s Book Club discussion, which I will be hosting February 28th! I chose Jeremy C. Shipp’s The Atrocities, because what romantic things does February remind me of? Chocolates, roses, and cheesy gifts? Noooo! How about haunted mansions with hedge mazes and scary statues? That’s what I’m talking about!

While you get ready for our book talk at the end of the month, here’s a reminder about what’s coming up on the horizon:

If you want to know more about the book choices above, read here and here, and I’ll see you soon for the February Book Club discussion!

Sure, it’s the day after Valentine’s Day, but I don’t know when I’ll be able to make use of this cute photo by BelleDeesse  on here again, so ta-da!!!

Honestly, Valentine’s Day was never my thing because I hail as Our Lady of Perpetual Singledom, so this holiday never felt like mine, but when you teach EFL in a different country and are instructed to be a “cultural ambassador,” guess what’s the #1 lesson topic you rely on when you need ideas? That’s right — it’s always the holidays. Hooray for originality and holidays forever being stuck in my brain.

Hope you enjoyed this week’s Roundup and we’ll see you again next time!
