The Kasturi/Files: Mid-season Break

Much like the television shows we get sucked into on cable or network television, The Kasturi/Files is taking a mid-season break. Wait, what? That’s right, for Day 15, we’re allowing our awesome authors Gemma Files and Sandra Kasturi to recover from their Canadian Thanksgiving, and if all goes well, we’ll be back tomorrow with not just one, but two movies for them to sink their teeth into.

In the meantime, mid-season breaks are a great opportunity to catch up on any episodes you may have missed, so take a peek at the list below and make sure you’re all caught up! Or perhaps you’ve caught every episode and want to revisit a favorite! Refresh your memory below and let us know: what’s been your favorite discussion so far? Have you watched any of these films as a result of The Kasturi/Files? Have you tried any of the cocktails? What books have been added to your to-be-read pile?

Don’t leave us hanging! Comment below, and get ready to continue this amazing feast tomorrow!

So in my household, we rewatched Alien (Director’s Cut), then watched Midsommar for the first time (!!!!), and I tried the Midnight Madness cocktail, which you were right: it’s super-deceptive! Thanks for writing such a great series!

Director’s cut of Alien is allowed. Director’s cut of Aliens: I will smack your wrist! Glad you enjoyed the cocktail!

This has been my favorite thing that Speculative Chic has ever done, to include things that I wrote. I don’t drink alcohol, so I haven’t tried any cocktails. I want to watch The Gift. I am adding so many books to my to-read list because of this series: Wild Fell by Michael Rowe, Mongrels by Stephen Graham Jones, Wilding by Melanie Tem, Kill Creek by Scott Thomas, and Bonavere Howl by Caitlin Galway.

I’m coming to these late but I’m really enjoying them. Horror is my favorite genre, and the discussions of the movies are excellent. The selection is great too – I thought I was the only one who loved What Lies Beneath that much. I’m also getting a ton of great book recommendations.
