Weekly Roundup, October 8-12, 2018

Hellloooo world! It’s Saturday, I’ve got my coffee, my amazing tunes (I lie, I’m listening to / watching Parks and Recreation while I work on this), and guess what time it is? (Do I sound perky? I’m not sure, I’m kinda loopy right now.) But anyway, hi there! It’s time for our weekly journey back into the week that was. Are you ready? Let’s go!

Monday

Author Laurence MacNaughton dropped by for My Favorite Things. This is a great list, and it features one of my favorite evil vehicles of all time. Hints: “an inspirational and iconic villain, music to write to, and the best way to mash gaming and reading together. Intrigued? Read on to learn more!”

Also, in case you missed it, there’s a pretty sweet giveaway for Laurence’s new book happening right now! More details right here. (PS: Look for reviews of No Sleep Til Doomsday and the two previous books in the series coming soon from yours truly!)

Tuesday

Merrin is plugging away at her 2018 resolution (to read N.K. Jemisin’s current body of work). This month’s review focused on The Killing Moon, the first book of the Dreamblood duology. No spoilers at this review, so read with no fear, my lovelies!

Wednesday

Due to her fondness for Starview Valley, Andrea Judy decided to try her hand at virtual cemetery upkeep. Confused? Take a peek at her review of Graveyard Keeper, if you’re curious!

On Wednesday afternoon, Kendra Merritt shared her thoughts on Christopher Krovatin’s Frequency! This book sounds like a lot of fun, but what did Kendra think? Check out her review and find out for yourself.

Thursday

Venessa Giunta, that lucky person, got to spend a weekend at DragonCon! Read about her fantastic adventure!

On Thursday afternoon, we were delighted to reveal the gorgeous cover for Kendra Merrit’s new novel, By Wingéd Chair! You know how happy we are to show off our writers’ fantastic work, so I hope that you take a look at her book and get as excited as we are. Look how pretty it is!

Friday

Nicole Taft finished off our week with her review of Paul Tremblay’s newest novel, The Cabin at the End of the World. Have you read Tremblay’s other work? I’ve only experienced A Head Full of Ghosts, personally. Nicole’s review contains spoilers, so read on at your own risk.

Our Daily Lovecraft

Are you following along with Nicole? Remember that you can keep track at this link. Stay caught up, and make sure to keep an eye on your sanity levels.

Book Club

We’re going to be discussing The Silent Companions soon! Done? Start on Cinder by Marissa Meyer for November! And please make sure that you’ve voted for which wintery novel that we’ll be reading in December. Vote here!

And there you have it! Got any big plans this weekend? I’ll be honest, my day job is kicking my tail. Furthermore, Mr. Price is feeling a little under the weather. So, we might continue our October horror movie marathon. We just might watch Christine, thanks to Laurence MacNaughton’s hearty endorsement! I love the book (and I’m re-reading it right now, actually), but I’ve never seen the film. I’m also a good portion of the way into It Happened One Doomsday, so I’ll be spending my weekend in the halls of Fiction.

Probably better to stay off of the roads anyway.
