Weekly Roundup: April 16-20, 2018

Good afternoon, friends and readers! Here in the Kingdom of Undisclosed Location, spring has fully sprung. This means that the air is filled with poisonous, soul-sucking pollen. While I enjoy springtime weather, it does not enjoy me. So I’m probably staying inside. Join me! Take a look at what our fantastic writers had to say this week and perhaps find something new to watch, read, or play! Onward!

Monday

If you’ve been following us for any amount of time, you’re fully aware that Mondays = My Favorite Things! This week’s guest contributor was Lucy A. Snyder. Here’s a small sampling of the things she currently loves best!

Tuesday

Nu Yang, a devoted MCU fan, took us down memory lane with her look back at the journey to Infinity War, and her personal evolution as a fan of the Avengers. Read her post and reminisce along with us!

Wednesday

Nicole Taft continued her Silver Screen quest with a review of Futureworld, the sequel to the film edition of Westworld. Click the previous links to find out her opinion on these two modern classics.

Thursday

A double-header! Our first post on this day was a new edition of Changing the Map. Calie Voorhis takes us on a spring break adventure this month. Intrigued? Hop on board right here.

Our second post on Thursday was a review of a film I’d never heard of, but am most certainly interested in watching now. Editor-in-Chic Shara White was so intrigued by Pyewacket that she briefly returned from sabbatical. Go read her (shockingly!) spoiler-free post right here!

Friday

Kicking off the weekend, Erin S. Bales took a look at some of speculative fiction’s world-changing storms! After reading her post, I can think of a few others. Can you?

Kendra Merritt finished out our week with a review of Dreadful Young Ladies, a short story collection. No spoilers here!

Book Club

I’ve been chirping about this for a while, but in case you’ve missed it, we’ll be discussing John Scalzi’s Redshirts any day now. AND, there’s still time to vote for our next selection (for June) right here! Go forth and vote!

Not a bad week at all! Are you hiding from the dread, airborne menace too? Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining at all! I’d rather have pollen than rain or more snow. Still, allergy symptoms are all kinds of unpleasant, so it’s best for me to stay put. I’m going to spend the rest of today scaring myself silly with William Peter Blatty’s The Exorcist, and then maybe scrubbing my brain with something a little less demonic. And, of course, I will be waiting impatiently for Monday to roll around so that I can gobble down the first episode of Westworld Season Two.

Huh. Looking forward to a Monday. Weird. The pollen must be getting to me.

Maeve, I’m fine. Really. Stop looking at me like that.
