This week’s guest for My Favorite Things was author Rachel Rust, whose work is very pertinent to my interest. There are few things that I love more than being scared half to death for fun. But that’s not what we’re supposed to be talking about. We’re more interested in what Rachel loves! Tuesday
Kelly McCarty made her first of two appearances this week on Tuesday with her review of Witchmark. Have you read this one yet? It’s somewhere in Mount TBR, but I just haven’t gotten there just yet. I’m tempted to fork over the cash for a paper copy, because the cover’s just so pretty. Yes, I am a sucker for a pretty book cover, but I promise you that I’m not the only one. Anyway, check out Kelly’s review, but do beware of mild spoilers.
On Tuesday afternoon, we broke our Thanos-ordered silence and shared our thoughts on Avengers: Endgame. There were so many mixed emotions. Please be aware: there are spoilers, but they are very clearly marked. Read on!
Wednesday
Andrea Judy reviwed Broken by Susan Jane Bigelow. I’m intrigued by the premise of this novel which concerns, among other things, the ability to see the future, superheroes, and dystopia. These things are all subjects that tickle my fancy. Find out what Andrea thought of the novel right here.
Thursday
Kelly McCarty returned for her second review of the week. This time she takes us into Rebecca Roanhorse’s Trail of Lightning. Book Club
I hope that you’re reading Shards of Honor. We’re almost halfway through May, can you believe it? I know that this month’s poll has been late, and I apologize. The dragon went on a rampage again, and we’re still cleaning up from her temper tantrum. But keep an eye out for it on Monday afternoon!
And that, my darlings, is that. It’s been nice to visit with all of you again. But alas, I had to step down from this feature in order to be able to keep on ticking in other areas. As always, I hope that you have a delightful weekend. Remember to take care of yourselves. Find a few minutes for something fun. Me? I might take in a film. There’s a new hard-boiled detective feature that I am very interested in.

If you think for even one second that I’m not going to watch Detective Pikachu, then you haven’t been paying attention. Ryan Reynolds + Pokémon = Casey bait. Besides, look how cute this little guy is. He’s got the little Sherlock Holmes hat, and a cup of coffee, and I just have to see this movie. It’s imperative.
So find something that makes you happy this weekend, and enjoy yourselves, even if it’s just for a few minutes. Hopefully Kristina will have made a full recovery by next weekend. If not, you just might have the pleasure of my company once again. We shall see. Later!
