When I first saw the artwork for Ooblets, I was intrigued. The strange blob-like creatures were adorable, and I love me a good farming simulator. What made Ooblets stand out, though, was that the Ooblets (what the little creatures are called) dance battle each other.

Discussion: In Ooblets, you move to a tiny island to start new. With nothing to your name, you begin making new friends, help to rebuild a struggling town and dance your butt off with your new Ooblet army.
The game is still in early-access, so the full experience is not there yet. But already, I can see what this game will become, and I am so excited! The traditional farming element is fun, and the variety of crops available already presents a beautiful and vibrant garden. What adds to the farming element is that you can actually grow new Ooblet friends as well!
The cuteness of the game is off the charts! You can dress up your little friends in bow-ties and brightly colored hats while they dance their little hearts out. There’s no real violence to speak of in the game, and the soothing, adorable world of Ooblets is a wonderful reprieve from real-world chaos.
The dialogue from the characters you meet in town is spot-on and a lot of fun, which makes the daily task of heading into town even more enjoyable, as you hear about the mayor’s plans, or the garden shop owner’s shady past. The town feels real despite the strange creatures wandering about the streets looking for snacks and new moves.
You receive daily tasks that grant you points to redeem for special items and upgrades, so there is always something to do, not to mention the mayor’s ever-growing task list she needs your help with. From uncovering the mystery of why strange cans keep appearing in town to reopening the Dance Barn, there is never a lack of activities, even in this early-access version of the game.
The developers are actively working on the game, fixing bugs and adding in new content, so I can’t wait to see more and more as the world of Ooblets grows.
In Conclusion: If you are looking for another chill game to add into your life, then Ooblets is a perfect fit. With humor, light, and a big dose of cuteness, this game invites everyone to have fun!
