The Top 10 Cutest Things on Disney+

If you haven’t seen The Mandalorian yet on Disney+, you won’t understand about 90% of Twitter these past few weeks. Or Facebook. Or Instagram.

The internet is blowing up with baby Yoda memes, offering pithy social commentary on everything from fatherhood to publishing.

But is there anything else that’s super cute on Disney+? There sure is.

From animated shorts to nature docu-tainment, we pulled 10 of the cutest things we could find from all over Disney+, starting with some holiday spirit.

Thing 1: Snowball (Noelle)

Appearing in Disney’s original Christmas movie, Noelle, Snowball steals the show.

This adorable reindeer calf bleats like a goat, acts like a puppy, and flies like a … well, like an animated Disney reindeer.

We’d adopt Snowball in a heartbeat, and we fully expect several thousand 2019 Christmas puppies around the world to end up with the same name.

Thing 2: Animated Dumpling (Bao)

This little thing, from the short film titled Bao, is a dumpling that comes to life, in the great Disney tradition of animation magic.

To be honest, the Disney+ shorts are making us wish we were animators ourselves.

If Star Wars inspired a generation of 80’s kids to pick up a Super 8 camera, Disney+ and Pixar are going to launch a 20’s generation of young CGI artists.

Thing 3: Sandpiper Chick (Piper)

From the animated short of the same name, Piper has a rough time learning to search for food while dodging the waves — or, rather, failing to dodge them.

It’s one of our favorite shorts we’ve discovered on Disney+ yet, and it’s sure to make you smile.

Thing 4: Bear Cub (Bears)

Giving the animated beasties a run for their money, Disney+ offers these actual bears, with a cuteness factor worthy of any Pixar artist.

Disney’s docu-tainment films blur the line between documentary and entertainment, blending stunning cinematography with narration that ranges from cute to educational.

Thing 5: Panda Cub (Born in China)

I mean, come on. This much cuteness in a living, breathing creature is ridiculous.

Let’s get back to the animated animals before this little panda cub breaks the cuteness scale.

Thing 6: Young Judy (Zootopia)

Anthropomorphic animals are the heart and soul of Disney. They always have been.

Starring in Zootopia, police-rabbit Judy is pretty darn cute at any age, but young Judy goes right over the edge.

Thing 7: Wall-E (Wall-E)

And don’t forget anthropomorphic robots. If you’ve never seen Wall-E, you really should.

You wouldn’t think a trash-collecting robot could be cute, but there it is.

Living in a dystopian future on an abandoned planet filled with garbage, Wall-E’s only companion is a cockroach, and even that’s cute.

Is there anything these artists can’t cute-ify?

Thing 8: Baymax (Big Hero 6)

And, speaking of robots, we can’t forget Baymax, from Big Hero 6.

At least if we have a heart attack from this adorable overload, we can get immediate medical attention from our personal health assistant.

Yes, we’re satisfied with your cuteness … er … care.

Thing 9: Groot (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2)

Remember dancing baby Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2?

There was a time when this little guy took over meme-space and blew up the internet.

Sadly, those days are gone. Because, in the end, nothing quite compares to …

Thing 10: Baby Yoda (The Mandalorian)

Other things came close. They really did.

The panda cub. The sandpiper chick. The wriggling, flying reindeer calf.

But nothing could hope to edge out baby Yoda.

I mean, hey. They took one of the most beloved characters of all time, and they turned him into an adorable little baby with the biggest eyes you’ve ever seen.

And then he raises his hand and scrunches up his little forehead like he’s concentrating and how do you not fall in love with that?

(By the way, yes, we know it’s probably not baby Yoda. But, look, clones? Force-assisted reincarnation? Who are we to assume anything? At any rate, there’s no species name in the canon, and the internet is calling this adorable young thing baby Yoda, which is exactly what I screamed out loud when I saw it. Until we have a better name for it, there it is.)

If you’re not watching The Mandalorian, you really need to. Not just for baby Yoda, but for the whole story.

Don’t have Disney+?

Either find a friend who has it and ask to borrow their phone for about an hour and a half …

Or, if you have Verizon Unlimited (or a bunch of other Verizon options), you can get Disney+ free for a year.

This post, by the way, is not sponsored by either Disney+ or Verizon in any way. It’s just really cute stuff, and an awesome deal, so we wanted to tell you about it.

How to Get Disney+ Free if You Have Verizon Unlimited

Step 1: Sign onto the Verizon app

Yes, you can do this on your phone.

Step 2: Use the menu to go to your Account

Step 3: Go to Add-Ons

Step 4: Choose the Entertainment tab

It’s on the top on the far right.

Step 5: Scroll down until you see Disney+

Step 6: Follow the simple instructions to accept your free year

Are you a Verizon Unlimited customer who already got Disney+? You can still get your free year. According to Business Insider, Disney+ will put your subscription on hold and give you the free year first.

You can see the full instructions on Verizon’s website. (Sign up any time before June 1, 2020 if you qualify for the deal.)

Or, if you don’t have Verizon, find a kind-hearted family member who has Disney+, show them baby Yoda, and create your profile on their account while they’re overwhelmed with warm fuzzies.

It works every time.

As a child, Steven Brown read anything he could get his hands on, sharing his favorite stories with his younger brothers and then acting them out, especially if this required sword fighting on horseback. When they ran out of books, he wrote his own, including his brothers as the main characters by sketching illustrations on magazine clippings.

Meanwhile, Erin Michelle Sky fell in love with llamas and with the books of Anne McCaffrey, whose Dragonriders of Pern series inspired her to become a writer. When she finally met Anne McCaffrey at a fantasy convention some two decades later, she wept uncontrollably throughout the entire affair. She does significantly better with llamas.

Together, they are Dragon Authors, writing science fiction and fantasy for teens and adults. Their short fiction has been published in the Hugo-nominated Andromeda Spaceways Inflight Magazine. The first volume of their newest series, Tales of the Wendy, was named by Goodreads as one of the hottest new YA series of 2018.

Wall*E is absolutely one of my faves, but I’m in love with Baby Yoda. HE IS THE CUTEST AND I WANT ONE.
